OWF Overdrive, Episode 3: November 16, 2010

OWF OVERDRIVE
November 16, 2010 Edition!

We cold open with OWF President Ryan Tardiff. He shows us footage of last week - Todd and Daniel, along with a mystery man, destroyed all 4 participants in the main event and him. He says this is not something that he will stand for. He calls out the mystery man.

Todd and Daniel answer the call. Todd tells him that it’s cute that he thinks he runs things but clearly THEY are the ones running things now. He talks about how the mystery man is his attack dog and all he has to do is call for him and he’ll wreck havoc.

Daniel says that he and Todd have an offer - if he just puts them in the semi-finals automatically, they’ll call him off. Ryan tells them to screw off and says if either they or the mystery man interferes in their match tonight then they’ll be suspended, not to mention that they’ll forfiet not only their own match but their partner’s too. He says he wants to talk to the mystery man and Todd says that’s too bad because he talks for the mystery man and he’s not ta-

Lights are out. Mystery Man is in the ring behind Todd and Daniel. Todd offers him the mic and he knocks it out of his hand - roaring elbow sends Todd to the outside, Daniel charges and he side steps and sends Daniel flying into Todd on the outside. The mystery man picks up the mic, thinks about it and drops it. The lights go back out and he’s gone.

Ryan is a bit taken aback. Todd and Daniel are a bit moreso. Ryan tells them that they better go back and prepare for their matches. And then he exhasperatedly announces that we’re starting tonight with a bang - it’s Joesph Woodbury vs. Drew Rosen and it’s next…

OWF World Heavyweight Title Quarterfinal Match:

Drew Rosen vs. Joesph Woodbury

They circle one another. Mat wrestling to start and Joe gets the best of it. As Drew tries to counter out of a front face lock Joe turns it into a uma platta! Drew scurries to the ropes! Joe pulls him back to the middle of the ring - Wounded Kneebar! Drew rolls out of it. Joe holds on! Drew gets to the ropes. Joe pulls him back again - he hooks him into a Boston Crab… and every time Drew gets close to the ropes he pulls him away. It’s the Trail of Tears! He finally pulls him to the center - hooks it in Liontamer style! It looks like this is going to be short! Drew struggles. The crowd is chanting for him to tap… he finally gets a hand on the ropes after a long struggle. The ref forces a break. Drew falls to the outside of the ring.

As Drew starts to get to his feet Joe readies… Suicide Dive? NO! Drew side steps it and he goes into the announce table! Drew takes a second to get his breath and then drops him with a DDT. He slides in the ring. The ref starts the count - 1…2…3…4…5 Joe is starting to stir… 6… 7… Drew goes for a baseball slide but Joe sidesteps it and pops into the ring, Drew follows back in - Joe catches him in a guillotine choke coming back in! Drew gets his feet on the ropes pretty quick. The crowd is buzzing - Drew can’t really get going.

Joe starts in with several kicks as Drew starts to get up. A leg sweep sends him down again and he goes for the knee bar again - Drew rolls it out before he can lock it. Drew hits a choplock to the knee to end the aggression for a moment. He starts to go to work on the knee. He tries to pull it out with some yanks. Half Boston Crab by Drew. When Joe starts to get to the ropes he walks it back to the middle. Joe starts with his opposite leg to kick out of the hold. He manages to get to his back and use his legs to push Drew out of the hold.

Joe rushes Drew but gets met with palm strikes. Joe goes for a high kick and Drew ducks it, spinning back fist! He whips Joe into the corner - avalanche! He sets up for the T-Bone suplex to complete Commend Thy Spirit but Joe elbows out - Flatliner into a Koji Clutch! Small Pox Sleeping Bag? Drew is struggling to hold on… and gets to the ropes. He rolls back to the outside of the ring as we take a commercial break!

As we come back we’re in a precarious positon - Drew is setting up for a superplex. Joe is trying to block it. He manages to break out of the position, he’s punching Drew and Drew is barely holding on… Drew pops up, out of nowhere - SUPER T-BONE SUPLEX! They are both down and out! The ref starts to count both out. 1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…Drew stirs… 9… he drapes an arm!

1!
2!
3? NO! KICKOUT!!! Drew is pissed - he gets into a mount and starts delivering elbows! After a rapid fire 6-8 elbows he covers again… 1! 2! KICKOUT again! Drew tries to pick him up and he goes limp. He tries to pick him up again. Nothing, he just is dead weight. Drew tries again… and gets caught in a gogaplata! He playing possum! Drew gets his feet in the ropes again. Joe pulls him out - oma plata… Drew tries to roll out and gets caught in a rear naked choke - just like last week! Drew manages to power himself up and drive Joe back first into the corner… he drives him in three times and it breaks the hold… and Joe does an float-over DDT out of the corner and turns it into a guilotine choke!

Drew is struggling! He’s trying to hold on… trying to find a counter… he’s fading… Joe is pulling back on it and Drew is going more and more limp! He’s not going to tap but he’s gonna fucking pass out! He finally fades entirely and ref starts checking. Raises the arm once… twice… three times and it falls! We have a winner! Three weeks - three submissions for Joe! He’s a fucking machine. And he’s on to the semi finals…

He goes to each turnbuckle and celebrates! The fans are going nuts! The post-match interviewer pops in the ring and asks for a comment. He tells him it feels great and now it’s off to the Pay Per View and the title! He pops out of the ring and starts pumping his fist!

BRIOMEGA interrupts! He says that he was watching in the back and Drew’s foot was under the rope! He gives us video proof! It’s true! Joe is pissed. Brio says he clearly wouldn’t want to win like that, would he. He hits the ring again and Drew is coming to - it’s back on! We got to break once again! Darn it! The deal's back on?!

We’re back!

We’re shown that during the break they were kept apart. Drew was given some time to recouperate and Ryan re-instated the match officially. The ref rings the bell!

Joe ducks a forearm - STO! ARM TRIANGLE! Reservation Strangulation! Drew is struggling! The crowd is chanting for him to tap! Can he submit him twice?! NO! Drew grabs the ropes… he rolls to the apron… starts to struggle to his feet… Joe runs, springboards Y2J style but off the top - he flies into Drew with double knees like Evan Bourne, off the apron! They crash to the outside!

The ref starts to count them both out…

1…2…3…4… Joe starts to stir…5…6…7… Joe rolls in… and rolls back out to break the count! He wants to win this one proper! He gets Drew and tosses him back in. Drew pounces on him when he rolls back in himself with more elbow strikes in the mount… Joe turns it into another gogaplatta! Drew might tap! The crowd wants it. Drew powers out, into a powerbomb like position and SWINGS Joe into the turnbuckle headfirst, breaking the hold… he then whips Joe into the other corner- AVALANCHE… he whips him again… another AVALANCHE… and again… AVALANCHE - then a delayed dangerous T-Bone suplex destroys Joe.

1…2…and that’s 3. Drew advances! The crowd doesn’t like this one at all. Brio pops back out on the stage and signals that Drew owes him one. Drew nods. Joe rises to his feet after the match to a big ovation from the fans! We fade to break on that note…

How can we follow that? Maybe we can’t! But we’re gonna try with The Todd vs. Benel Germosen!

Benel is bandaged up pretty bad on his shoulder and right arm. He gets a nice babyface reaction and takes the mic and says that he’s glad to be back and he’s gonna fight like hell to be the next OWF Champion! And to get revenge on one of the men that put him out - The Todd! People might remember Brio turning on him and he’ll certainly be dealing with him soon but Todd and Daniel certain put in their licks too and now it’s time for revenge!

Todd comes out and laughs it off and says he’s going to be the next OWF Champion, after all, he’s The Todd… damn it.

OWF World Heavyweight Title Tournament Quarterfinal Match

The Todd vs. Benel Germosen

Benel goes to work quick hammering away on Todd with his good arm. Todd scrambles to the outside, Benel follows him… Todd tosses him bad arm first into the steps. He puts his arm on the steps and stomps on it a few times. He throws him back in the ring, arm breaker! Arm bar! The ref stops the match! Benel just wasn’t in any shape to fight back against this. A pity.

Todd gets on the mic post-match and brags that he had the quickest match of anyone in the tournament thus far. Drew interrupts and says that Todd doesn’t belong in the semi-finals but if they end up in the finals together? He’s gonna take him apart.

Steve Marshall interrupts! He says that Daniel, Todd and the mystery man better watch their back because he wants pay back for what happened to him last week and he wants to know who that damn mystery man is, even if he isn’t with Todd and Daniel. He also tells Drew that he’s not going to make the finals - whoever wins tonight’s Battle Royal main event? He’s taking them out and then Drew and then whoever he has to in the finals but secretly, in the back of his mind, he wouldn’t mkind for one moment if it was Todd.

We cut to break with a promo that up next Daniel faces Mars Nova in another Quarterfinals match-up!

Daniel comes out and says the match we saw not long ago was a classic, a great epic encounter. No not Drew and Joe- Benel and Todd- he’s going to make just as short and ugly work out of Mars Nova, cause he’s Daniel K… and K is for knockout and that’s good enough for him. Not sure that one is gonna stick.

OWF World Heavyweight Title Tournament Quarterfinal:

Daniel K. vs. Mars Nova

Daniel is tenative early… lots of kicks to the knee and fleeing. After a minute or so of this Mars is feeling it but he jumps over a kick and hits a diving forearm and starts reigning in with punches. He picks Daniel up - He puts him in position for a crucifix neck breaker but Daniel counters into a rana - into a pin - 1…2..kickout. He starts firing in kicks on Mars and he’s on his knees… till Mars shoves him sending him halfway across the ring. He charges back into a powerslam - 1…2.. kickout.

Mars hits the ropes, knee lift! He keeps going and hits a lariat! 1…2…kickout! He sets up for another one but Daniel ducks, dropkick to the knee! He starts going to work on the knee. He picks it up and slams it down. And again! He drapes his leg over the second rope and hits an elbow drop! And another! And another!

He drags Mars to the middle of the ring and goes for a Texas Cloverleaf but Mars counters into a small package! 1…2..kickout! Daniel goes back on the attack, stomping the knee, hitting an elevated knee drop on the knee, then a spinning toe hold! He goes around again, and again, and again.. Till Mars counters by kicking him off with his other leg… Daniel charges him, right into a big belly to belly suplex. Mars is slow to cover but when he does he gets 1…2.. And a kickout.

Mars picks him up again for the crucifix powerbomb but his knee crumbles, Daniel falls out, chopblock to the knee! Texas Cloverleaf?! Yes. It’s locked on in the middle of the ring. The crowd is chanting for Mars to get out! He tries to get to the ropes and Daniel pulls him back. The crowd boos! Perhaps because we’re repeating a spot? NO! Because Daniel is a jerk, that’s why.

Mars is struggling, he almost looks like he might tap! But the crowd chants start growing and he starts pushing up on the hold! He’s trying to power out! He manages to get high enough to roll out of pressure and then cascades Daniel off of him. Daniel charges… into a tilt a whirl back breaker! Onto the bad knee! Bad move! They are both down! We take a break!

Daniel is hitting more leg kicks as we return, we see that during the break he’s went to work on Mars’ leg again. Mars pushes him away again. He comes back with more leg kicks. Mars tries a clothesline, it’s ducked, Daniel knees him in the gut, double underhook suplex is being set up… Mars back body drops out of it! He hits the ropes and as Daniel gets up - Nova Flash Pounce! 1…2… KICKOUT! He won his first two matches with that move.

He picks Daniel up… knee kick! Daniel hits a brainbuster! He goes up top - Senton? Mars gets out of the way. They’re both down! They get to their feet and trade forearms… and Daniel hits a leg kick that turns the tide. Northern Lights Suplex! 1…2…Kickout! Daniel picks him up but Mars counters with a jaw breaker. He sets him up with a pump handle - Daniel pops out, kick to the back of the knee, he sets up for the Tiger Driver… he hits it!

1…2…Mars kicks out! He sets him up for a second Tiger Driver! Mars backdrops out… Mars goes for another pounce, Daniel side steps it… he tries another rana - and get’s hoisted up into a crucifix powerbomb, no- he spins and hits a neckbreaker - Nova Spike! 1…2… Daniel kicks out! Another pump handle - Coast City Driver! 1…2…3! Daniel was plucky but not enough.

After the match Nova is asked what he thinks and he thinks he’s going to be next OWF Heavyweight Champ! The lights go out! The masked man attacks Nova! He destroys his knee further with a chair! He then starts in to go to the ring! Daniel bails! Steve Marshall’s music hits! He hits the ring and ducks a chairshot! He sweeps out the legs and starts reigning in blows! He’s grabbed his mask! He’s going to pull it off! The lights go out again! He’s gone and Steve has his mask! He’s frustrated as we go to break.

Up next is the battle royal - it’s our main event!

The ring announcer tells us it’s time for the Battle Royal! BriOmega interrupts and says that there is no way that he should need to be involved in this - he should have a place in the next round in the tournament automatically - he isn’t getting his second chance here, it’s his only chance and that’s just not fair.

He’s going to sit in the middle of this ring, with this here steel chair until Ryan comes out and throws this all out and gives him is oppurtunity.

We take our last commercial break as Brio sits in the middle of the ring, in his steel chair and waits.

We’re back! Brio is still going on and on about how it’s not fair. Joe’s music hits! He walks intently to the ring, Brio grabs the chair and takes a swing and a miss. Joe kicks it into his face and tosses him over the top rope. Joe then takes the mic and says if anyone deserves a second chance in this tournament it’s him.

Second Chance Battle Royal for a Spot in the Quarterfinals of the OWF World Heavyweight Title Tourament

The rest of the participants enter - Moon-Spider, Buddy Friend, Human Target, Adam Montan, Jason California, Roger, Joe AiR and Scotland Green. Last minute addition? Dr. Blasphemy, who tells everyone he is very offended not have been included in the tournament.

We start with Joe, still certainly worse for wear, brawling with Buddy Friend as pretty much everyone else tries to take on Adam Montan and they keep bouncing off like needlessly one and at a time attacking ninjas. Eventually Human Target, Joe and Scotland decide to work together and we get a triple team on Montan, all of the attacking him at once… he hits a back body drop on all three at once, eliminating them all. Roger tries to clothesline him and knocks himself down in the process. Montan picks him up, Military Press style and flings him over the top.

Montan and Joe start brawling now, with Buddy Friend and Dr. Blasphemy teaming up to double team Moon-Spider. Dr. Blashemy double crosses Buddy Friend in short order and eliminates him. While he celebrates Moon-Spider eliminates him!

Final Three! Moon-Spider, Montan and Joe! Joe has Montan over near the ropes and is nailing him with forearms and kicks! He builds up a head of steam and does a diving forearm - Montan catches him but he starts with forearms with Montan leaning backward over the top… Montan tosses him off and over the top but Joe grabs, with one hand, the top and just barely hangs on for dear life. Meanwhile Moon-Spider dives into him with a crossbody as he’s rocked and they both go over the top… knocking Joe’s hand off the ropes! WHO WON?!

The ring announcer comes in the ring dumbfounded… but Drew comes out! Brio was eliminated before the bell! And despite his saying he didn’t want to compete he signed a contract to be in the match and then Brio rolls into the ring.- Drew announces him the winner!

Ryan comes out and relents that annoyingly enough that is all logical. BUT! He’s made a decision - Next week we’re going to sort this out - Montan vs. Moon-Spider vs. Joe vs. Brio… vs. Steve Marshall! Winner faces Drew at the Pay Per View!

And on that note - we are done!
